The Red Sea Link Phase II is the largest single-platform installation in Wepex history — a 3.8 GW integrated energy and desalination complex positioned 22 km offshore from Jeddah. The platform combines HVDC export capacity, reverse osmosis desalination producing 640,000 m³/day of potable water, and hydrogen-ready substations designed for future green fuel conversion.

The platform's topside weighs 28,400 tonnes and was installed as a single lift by the heavy-lift vessel WPX Venturer — at the time the heaviest offshore lift ever completed in the Red Sea. The HVDC converter station transmits power ashore via two ±500 kV submarine cables, each 24 km in length, with landing points engineered to withstand the region's extreme tidal variation.

Environmental performance exceeds the project baseline by 24% on embedded CO₂, achieved through the use of WPX-C7 low-carbon concrete in all caisson and jacket structures, and a closed-loop seawater intake system that reduces thermal discharge impact on Red Sea coral reefs by 90% versus conventional once-through cooling.
