Atlanta Transit Corridor — East Loop Extension

The Atlanta Transit Corridor East Loop Extension is a $2.1 B design-build contract covering 18.4 km of new light rail, 11 stations, and 3 interchange hubs connecting downtown Atlanta with the Emory University medical corridor and Decatur. The project is the single largest transit investment in Georgia's history.

The alignment includes a 2.3 km twin-bore tunnel under Midtown, excavated by TBM with real-time settlement monitoring of 340 above-ground structures. The WEPEX/Build digital command centre achieved 98.3% schedule adherence across four concurrent work fronts — tunnel, aerial guideway, at-grade track, and station buildings.

Four stations are designated transit-oriented development sites, with joint venture partners constructing mixed-use residential and commercial buildings integrated into the station architecture. Projected daily ridership is 120,000 by 2032, with a benefit-cost ratio of 3.1 as calculated by the Federal Transit Administration.
